Working With an Architect
At Built Prefab there are three main ways to design your prefab modular structure. The first is to simply choose one of our standard models, choose your finishes and options from our model guide and build your new home.
The second way is to work with us to create your own floorplan and build yourself a custom home working with our design team, Built Labs.
Finally, another valuable option is to engage the assistance of a third party architect to help you with you design and then have Built Prefab complete the manufacturing and installation of your home.
Architects are a wonderful resource to help you design something special and there are a variety of reasons why to engage one:
– You are looking for a special, personal design;
– There are special lot requirements and building code considerations; and/or
– You are designing a multi family or large structure, which by law requires the use of an architect in the design and oversight of the project.
When looking for an architect to assist you we always recommend looking for someone who has experience with prefab and in particular modular projects.
Built Prefab has a number of design parameters that we can share with your architect so that your building not only fits your requirements and those on site, but is also suitable for efficient manufacturing and procurement.
While there are many architects out there who have experience with prefab and modular construction, soome of our favourites include:
Resolution: 4 Architecture – New York, USA Based Residential Design
Marmol Radziner – California, USA Based Residential Design
