Designing Your Prefab Home: Webinar #2 Recap

Designing Your Prefab Home: Webinar #2 Recap

Our second webinar, “Designing Your Prefab Home,” was a huge success! We demonstrated how each home is presented in 3D, allowing you to visualize it with furnishings, appliances, and customizations before construction begins. With Built Prefab, you can explore various siding colors and truly see what your home will look like.

Your Questions Answered!

To further assist you, we compiled a list of the most frequently asked questions from the webinar, along with our detailed answers. These insights will help you understand the versatility, safety, and customization options available when designing your prefab home with Built Prefab.

1. Can I use the Build and Price tool to get a general idea of cost per square foot, even if my floor plan is not exact?

Yes, you can. Our Build and Price Tool is incredibly powerful. By clicking through and selecting your options, you can email yourself a detailed build and price breakdown. This breakdown includes your overall price, divided into line items such as the base price for the model, selections and upgrades, transportation, framing, site work, and more.

2. Can the modules bolt to a foundation wall in preparation for seismic events?

Yes, they can. Our modules bolt securely to a foundation wall to withstand significant seismic events like a magnitude 9 earthquake. We build in seismic zones and follow specific engineering plans. These plans detail the requirements for each site, including embedded straps in the foundation for added stability.

3. How much snow load can the roof tolerate?

Our roofs withstand substantial snow loads and meet all relevant codes. We’ve built homes in extreme snow load areas, such as ski resorts. Each home is tailored to its specific location and environmental demands.

4. Is it possible to design ducting for a central HVAC heat pump system?

Yes, it is. We can design ducting for a central HVAC heat pump system with ducting in the floor and a forced air system. All our homes include an HRV system. You can choose your preferred filter type.

5. Can your homes be designed for wheelchair accessibility?

Yes, they can. We design our homes for wheelchair accessibility. We follow design standards for doors, millwork, showers, and other elements to ensure full accessibility.
